The
voice, voice-over, voice over actor, voice
over narrator, voice over artist, voice over talent, voice over announcer,
annimation voiceover or commercial voiceover are numerous names for performers
who do various forms of the business and art of "voice-over."
Though there are many different names and titles for those who perform voice-over,
all titles refer to virtually the same practice. Voiceover is a method of
recording the spoken voice (usually human) and then adding it to an audio
or voice track.
The
voice track can be used in a variety of media such as radio, television, internet,
videos, etc. The voice-over talentr usually has special voice or acting training,
a versatile voice and the ability to communicate.
Unlike
the actor who appears "on-camera" where physical mannerisms, i.e.,
facial expressions or hand gestures help get a message across, the voice actor
must convey ideas, emotions, and concepts to their audience with only his
or her voice.
